A body for Enni - My eighth BJD #5 - Arrival (box opening)

I was on my way to a birthday party yesterday and didn't have the time, but couldn't leave the package untouched on the sofa...so it was a very quick and short box opening this time.

Close-up on Ria:

I wasn't planning on keeping the Ria OE and SP heads or the event head. But I gotta say that Ria looks so much better IRL. Fairylands face-up did NOT make her lips justice on the promo pictures AT ALL. They are so much more fuller and beautiful shaped. I'm honestly tempted to keep her. But I have no character for her (or body) and I already have 2+ floating heads around. So maybe I'll order her in the future. She's quite the charmer...her sleeping face is stunning.

A body for Enni - My eighth BJD #4

From: Fairyland
Object 1: MiniFée A-Line body with natural skin and C bust (large) with hands no.4
+ Blank Ria OE and Ria SP heads i natural skin
Parts: MiniFée high-heeled feet (hook), hands no.9 and 3 in natural skin
Eventgift: MiniFèe Halloween event head 2016 in natural skin
Status: AVI in the mail
Me: I had some problem with costoms. They wanted proof of payment with description of goods. I e-mailed Fairyland. They sent me back an invoice to send to costums. Costums wrote back and said that they didn't accept it as proof. Fairyland tried to help but in the end it seemed like the only option we had was to decline the package so it would go back to Fairyland and then they would re-send it to me. Then, SUDDENLY, I got an AVI and could go get the package. Out of the blue! *pwew*

A dress after a Raccoon Rags pattern.

Bought a pattern on Etsy, from Raccoon Rags a while ago. It's made for Ellowyne Wilde, not Minifée, but very similar in measurements...so I thought I would give it a try. The pattern itself was very easy to follow and the owner of Raccoon Rags, Tess, was very friendly and helpful. I had so much fun sewing this dress and learned a lot! Even though it wasn't the easiest to hand-sew the whole thing. Those tiny stitches...gosh. But I think I managed to do a good job with it. Unfortunately, it turned out that the waist is too big for Minifée. It can still work, if you're not picky or have a blouse under that takes up lots of space. But I'd like it to be tighter. Which is why I asked Tess for advice how to adjust the pattern and she responded with some tips. So I'm gonna modify the pattern a bit and try again :)

My first handmade bjd socks ♥

I have a tendency to take quick and not very well thought pictures of stuff I have made. And then ending up never using those photos for anything, because they look messy. Mostly it's the background that's the problem...and decent light. And lack of energy xD

I made a pair of ruffled socks a while ago though. And I'm pretty happy with them, being my first handmade socks and all, so I decided to actually take a decent picture of it...after realizing that even though the picture I took on the balcony shows off the ruffles well, it was kinda boring to look at. How do you solve the situation? With a Hello Kitty pillow of course! ^.^

(The socks was made for my M-line Sarang, but works for A-line feet too)

Me: Not the plan. Was gonna wait to buy a body for incoming Enni, but then Fairyland had to go and make a new A-line body and discontinue the old, so it forced me to buy the old A-line before it's gone :( The two Ria heads are gonna go up for sale when they arrive, I just ordered them to qualify for the event head.

Sewing project - Dress

It was time. Patterns have always scared me a bit, it looks so difficult...normally I just freestyle. But I found such a cute pattern for a dress on Etsy, so I had to try it out. Here's some crappy phone pics on the process:

I forgot how much I like to sew, it's so much fun to see a piece of fabric transform into something! Looking forward to see the end result, I hope it will fit my M-line body *crossing fingers*

New shoes for my Minifées ♥

So...I have a dolly account on Instagram. It's not filled with much yet because my old phone couldn't take good pictures (I hope it will change now when I finally have a new one), but I have found out it's a great way to find others in this hobby! My eyes are mostly on those who create bjd clothes, shoes, accessories and face-ups. Not all of them is on Etsy and therefor might be harder to find. Nata.ko is one of these amazing talented people and she makes such cute and well made shoes (and other things too!). I was lucky enough to not only find her, but to get on her waiting list for a commission slot and now, finally, I have my product in my hand! Or products...I could not keep to one single item, so I commissioned her to make me 4 pair of shoes.

Even though the language barrier was a bit in the way, everything turned out perfect. She sent me photos during the process to make sure everything was made to my wishes and I'm so pleased with the ends result; the shoes are so well made and they all fit great! Because that's always a bit of a problem for me, with Minifées; all shoes are too big! I'm sure I'm not the only one with this dilemma. It doesn't matter how good the shoes are looking if they don't fit properly or look too bulky. It just looks silly! But now, thanks to Natalia, I've finally have something to put on my girls feet :D

(picture above belongs to Natalia)

And below are my happy dollies! First; nameless colorful girl. Second; Miriél who really doesn't do that style at all, just wanted to show of the shoes (she's all about white/grey-ish colors and old socks that almost falls apart or just simply walking barefoot). An then we have the third girl, the monster hunter (but also Miriéls twin) and the fourth pair of shoes are for the incoming Enni head...even though she's missing a body for now xD

Enni

This was totally unplanned. But what do you do when it's suddenly (and finally!) pops up a pre-order on Etsy with one of your dream heads? You go for it. Without caring about that you need to pay rent or buy food or...you know. You go a bit insane o.0

But I had to. And I'm happy I did. And I can't believe I actually managed to buy one before they ran out. But...now I have to buy her a body too. Oh gosh. Didn't think that far xD

The Evolution of Barbie - New bodies

YES! FINALLY.

This is big. And about time, I'd say.
Different hair and skin tones have already existed in the Barbieworld for a while, as it should, but now there's 3 more body types; petite, curvy and tall. This is looong overdue, but still awesome.

I don't really collect Barbie anymore, but NEED a "curvy" one. Or two. Look:

What do you think?
